This session is an interactive online session designed to support new FDC educators in understanding of their obligation to identify and respond to child protection matters. Upon successful completion, participants will be equipped with basic Child Protection skills sufficient to enable them to appreciate the importance of Child Protection, understand their legal and service policy obligations in relation to protecting children from harm, recognising indicators of child abuse, and reporting concerns appropriately.

The session has a number of knowledge check points and reflective questions to assist in consolidation of knowledge and has a Professional Development Quality Improvement Plan attached aimed at encouraging educators to think about how what they have learned will influence their daily interactions and practice.
