Let’s explore the 7 Quality Areas of the Natural Quality Standards
The National Quality Standard sets a new national benchmark for the quality of education and care services. It will also give educators and service staff and families a better understanding of a quality service. This will enable families to make informed decisions about the services providing education and care to their child. The National Quality Standard is a key aspect of the National Quality Framework. It brings together the seven key quality areas that are important to outcomes for children.
The ‘Let’s explore the 7 Quality Areas of the National Quality Standards’ is a series of three sessions delivered over three consecutive weeks.
Session 1. Introduction to the National Quality Standards
Introduces the National Quality Framework in which the National Quality Standards exists. Participants will explore the overarching Quality Areas, Standards and Elements and consider how these relate to their daily work.
Session 2. Making Quality visible
Takes participants on a tour of how practice is assessed during the Rating and Assessment visit and explains the rights, roles and responsibilities of each parties in this process.
Session 3. Building confidence in everyday practice
Participants will increase their understanding of how the NQS seven Quality Areas relates to their everyday practice and develop some strategies to assist in highlighting professional knowledge by supporting them in articulating why they do what.
