This involves an email and phone enquiry resource and advisory service for our members, families, home-based Educators and the general public.

Introductory Session-FDCAQ’s Get it Together Resource
September 15th | 9.30am – 10.30am

The introductory session will:

  • Explore all four components of the Get It Together kit.
  • Discuss ways Practice Mentors (also known as Coordinators) can use this resource to support Educators to explore the core themes, principles and outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework.

FDCAQ State Regional Meeting
October 5th | 9.30am – 12.30pm

This Regional Meeting is FREE for FDCAQ Members and $35.00 for Non Members
Our maximum in-house numbers allocated for 7/20 Smallwood Place Murrarie is 35 participants.
Our maximum online numbers allocated for the Regional Meeting is 25 participants.

The Agenda for this State Regional Meeting will include:

  • Information from DET (Cathy O’Malley) – Trends in FDC during the Assessment and Rating Process
  • Professional Conversation reflecting on information from the DET presentation and reconnecting to key standouts from previous regional meeting and where to from here
  • Connecting about FDCAQ membership and how we charge and what we deliver

Online Introductory Session – Practice Mentor Capability Framework
October 11th | 1.00pm – 2.00pm

The introductory session will:

Explore all three components of the Practice Mentor Capability Framework kit.
Discuss ways to engage with the Capability Framework as a resource for identifying the current skills and knowledge needed in the role as a Practice Mentor (also known as Coordinators).

5 Reasons Why Loose Parts are an important part in any Early Childhood setting
November 3rd | 7.00pm – 9.00pm

This Loose Parts Session will:

  • Awaken creativity and possibilities
  • Stimulate imagination
  • Provide open learning opportunities
  • Lead to problem solving and theoretical reasoning
  • Embed the 3 R’s recycle, reuse and recycle

Educational Leader Network Meeting
December 7th | 1.00pm – 2.30pm

This is a valuable space for conversations around the Educational Leader Role and a great opportunity to share stories, develop strategies and resources to support your role in your service.

During this Educational Network Meeting we will:

  • discuss current Early Years research and development
  • share your Educational Leader stories
  • unpack any new skills or knowledge you have learnt in the role
  • develop strategies and resources to support you in your role
  • network with other Educational Leaders

FDCAQ New Coordinator Training “Coordinator to Practice Mentor”
October 26th | 9.30am – 4.00pm
October 27th | 8.30am – 3.00pm

This is a two day in-service training opportunity for new Coordinators (Practice Mentors) to examine the role of a Coordinator (Practice Mentor) within the Legislation and the National Quality Framework.

Workshop outline:

  • How services philosophy, policies and operational procedures fit together.
  • Approved Provider, Nominated Supervisor, Educational Leader obligations and legislative requirements.
  • Learning ‘who’s who in the zoo’ in FDC. All the players and programs connected to the FDC model.
  • Examining the visiting process and building partnerships.
  • Understanding individual learning styles
  • Using FDCAQ’s new resource “Practice Mentor Capability Framework Guide” as a tool to mentoring educators.

“Building Confidence in Program and Practice” Educator Session | Toowoomba
October 15th | 9.30am – 3.00pm
