FDCAQ – The Family Day Care Association of Queensland, ┬áhas been supporting the child care profession since 1977, playing a significant industry leadership and educational role within Family Day Care across Queensland, providing
support to services, service users and educators by strengthening networks, providing resources, advice, representation and advocacy, delivering professional learning, accredited training and children services.

FDCAQ – Assisting┬áServices, Educators and Families

As the state peak body for Family Day Care in Queensland we aim to build the capacity of the Family Day Care
community by assisting Services, Educators and Families to:

  • Remain up to date with emerging legislation and standards that will impact on the family day care community;
  • Acting as a representative for the family day care community at state government sector meetings;
  • Supporting the design and development of family day care specific resources that will enhance the
    provision of education and care;
  • Attending Regional Meetings where possible;
  • Facilitating Professional Conversations for coordinators;
  • Build an inclusive partnership and culture with all participants in the Service.
  • Providing the membership with advice, resources and support that will assist the operation of the member service;
  • Supporting and providing advice to educators and families experiencing difficulties or where they have concerns related to legislation;
  • Responding to enquiries and providing referrals to FDC Schemes for families and prospective
    Home-based Educators looking to access a family day care service;
  • Disseminating relevant information that will assist family day care services and educators in their day to day work;
  • Seeking feedback from the family day care community on issues that may impact on their service provision;
  • Work collaboratively in addressing concerns
