SUPPORT WITH LEARNING
You will have access to the Training Support Team who will work with you to achieve competency across all subjects. The Trainer and Assessors are experienced early childhood workers who will be able to assist you with any questions, and support your understanding of the subjects or assessments you are studying. This process of support has proven to ensure Educators are successful in meeting the competency within a desirable period.
The Certificate III requires a minimum of 120 placement hours with children of varying ages and the Diploma requires 240 hours with children of varying ages.
Learners will need to undertake on the job assessment with some subjects. You can do this at your workplace, as long as you have access to the required age group for the subject and as long as your work place is a regulated education and care setting. Your supervisor at work or a Coordinator of a family day care service can be the supervisor for your practicum. A workplace assessor from FDCTA will also assess for competency on the job, while care occurs. If you are not currently working as an Educator or do not have access to the children needed to complete subjects, FDCTA will work with you to organise vocational placement.
