Family Day Care – How does it differ?
Family Day Care is a regulated form of education and care provided in a qualified educator’s own home. Family Day Care operates under the same National Quality Framework as other forms of child care and parents are eligible for the same financial assistance as other child care services.
Family Day Care differs from other types of care because educators work with small groups of no more than four children under school age and up to three school age children (outside school hours). Education and care is provided in a small group environment facilitating strong bonds between educators, parents and children, and effective early learning and development.
For over 40 years, Family Day Care has been a cornerstone of flexible, affordable child care in Queensland.
